Matt Matovich joined Goodman McGuffey LLP in 2017 in the Savannah, Georgia office. His practice primarily focuses on general civil litigation and insurance defense. Prior to joining Goodman McGuffey, Matt spent ten years as a litigation specialist/in-house counsel for a national church insurance company. During that time, he worked in all aspects of insurance defense and insurance claims handling, specializing in matters involving sexual misconduct, death, discrimination, bad faith, intellectual property, copyright infringement, bodily injury, directors and officer’s liability, negligence, automobile accidents, complex litigation, and coverage review.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Matt was a police officer in the greater Chicagoland area for eleven years where he held various positions within the Investigations and Patrol Divisions. Upon completion of law school, Matt clerked for the Honorable Judge John D. McBride in Beaver County Pennsylvania, Court of Common Pleas, and assisted in all judicial and administrative matters involving Criminal, Civil and Orphans Court. Matt is a graduate of Duquesne University School of Law (J.D. 2006), Indiana University (M.P.A. 2000), and Purdue University (B.A. 1991). Matt is a resident of South Carolina and is currently licensed in Georgia and Pennsylvania.
