Jon-Michael T. McNew

Jon-Michael McNew joined Goodman McGuffey LLP as an associate in the Charlotte, North Carolina office in July 2023. Jon-Michael represents a wide variety of businesses including nursing homes, banks, security firms, construction companies, airlines, telecommunication providers, hotels, employment staffing agencies and large manufacturers in workers’ compensation matters across the state of North Carolina. He has experience in North Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia in workers’ compensation and civil liability. He also has experience with Federal Black Lung claims. He has represented clients in civil matters involving negligence, premises liability, HOA disputes, and contractual disputes. He has prepared an appellate brief before the Tennessee Supreme Court’s Worker’s Compensation Panel. In North Carolina, he has successfully obtained temporary restraining orders and motion for summary judgment for his clients. He has assisted in the settlement of a wide variety of claims in North Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia.

Jon-Michael is an active member of the North Carolina and Mecklenburg County Bar Associations as well as the Young Lawyer’s division of the North Carolina Bar.

Jon-Michael earned his J.D. from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, South Carolina in 2017.  He received Cali awards in criminal law, property law, problems in professional responsibility, evidence, and capital markets during his time there. Jon-Michael received his undergraduate degree in accounting from the University of South Carolina in 2013.
