Janine A. McKinnon
Janine A. McKinnon joined the Atlanta, Georgia office of Goodman McGuffey, LLP in October 2021. Janine represents individuals and corporations in a wide range of general liability matters in both federal and state courts across Georgia. Janine has been licensed to practice law in Alabama since 2010 and in Georgia since 2011.
Janine graduated from Vanderbilt University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Engineering in Biomedical Engineering. She received her law degree from Howard University School of Law in 2010, where she was a Senior Articles Editors of the Howard Law Journal and graduated in the Top 25 of her class. Thereafter, Janine began her career at an Am Law 100 firm based in Birmingham, Alabama handling a variety general litigation, insurance, and financial services matters representing companies and government entities in both state and federal court across the country.
While practicing in Alabama for ten years, Janine also gained experience as a plaintiff personal injury attorney litigating auto accident, slip-and-fall, dog bite, nursing home neglect, medical malpractice, product liability and mass tort matters.
Janine, who is a native of Atlanta, returned home in 2020 to re-join the defense bar representing insurance companies and their insureds in trucking accident, premise liability, dog bite, and other general liability matters.
Having been on both sides of the fight gives Janine a unique perspective and opportunity to resolve claims efficiently.
