Erica C. Mitchell
Erica Mitchell is a partner in the Atlanta, Georgia office of Goodman McGuffey LLP with over 15 years of experience representing self-insured and commercially insured employers in workers’ compensation matters. She has litigated numerous matters before the Georgia State Board of Workers’ Compensation and presented several oral arguments to the Appellate Division of the State Board and Georgia Superior Courts. Erica has represented a wide variety of clients in the construction, temporary agency, restaurant, transportation/trucking, national retail, airline, and healthcare industries, among others.
Erica was raised in St. Louis, Missouri before moving to Atlanta where she completed high school. She attended Boston University for one year and returned to Atlanta where she graduated summa cum laude from Georgia State University with a B.A. in Journalism and Philosophy. She worked for the Fulton County Board of Commissioners before attending Emory University School of Law on a full scholarship. While at Emory, Erica was a member of the Moot Court Society, Community Service Chair of the Black Law Students Association, and interned at the Barton Child Law and Policy Clinic where she presented research on human trafficking at a Georgia legislative committee hearing.
In addition to being a member of the Georgia Bar, in 2019 Erica passed the California Bar Exam.
