Joshua Y. Joel


Josh joined Goodman McGuffey’s Atlanta office as an employment litigation associate in August 2017. Before joining the firm, Josh served as a Staff Attorney with the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.

An Atlanta native, Josh graduated magna cum laude from Georgia State University College of Law in May 2015. While in law school, Josh served as a judicial intern for Chief Justice Hugh P. Thompson of the Georgia Supreme Court, as well as the Honorable Alford J. Dempsey of the Fulton County Superior Court. He also served as the legislation editor of the Georgia State University Law Review, and his published student note was recognized with the 2014 Best Student Note Award. He also worked as a graduate research assistant for Professor John T. Marshall and was a member of the Outer Barrister’s Guild.

Prior to law school, Josh graduated magna cum laude from Excelsior College with a Bachelors in Liberal Arts. He also received a Bachelors in Talmudic Literature from Yeshiva Beis Yisroel in Jerusalem, Israel and rabbinic ordination from the Supreme Rabbinical Court of Jerusalem. Josh volunteers as a member of the Board of Trustees of Congregation Beth Jacob.
