Jamie McDowell is an Associate Attorney in the Atlanta office of Goodman McGuffey, LLP where she represents self-insured and commercially insured employers in the defense of workers’ compensation claims throughout Georgia.
Jamie received her Juris Doctor from the University of Georgia School of Law (2018) and her Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Arizona State University (2014). While in law school, Jamie served as a judicial intern for Chief Justice P. Harris Hines of the Georgia Supreme Court. She was also a judicial intern for Chief Judge Ethelyn N. Simpson and Judge Charles E. Auslander, III of the State Court of Athens-Clarke County, and was a registered mediator for the Magistrate Court of Athens-Clarke County. Jamie served as the Executive Online Editor for the Georgia Journal of International and Comparative Law.
During her second and third years of law school, Jamie worked at a law firm where she helped bring and defend legal-malpractice cases and other professional-liability and discipline matters. During her third year, Jamie was sworn-in under Georgia’s Third-Year Practice Act to prosecute criminal matters in the Fulton County Solicitor General’s Office, where she argued several motions and won a jury trial before the Fulton State Court.
Jamie was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada and currently resides in Buckhead.
